Napa Roundtable To Focus On Closing The Achievement Gap In Education

The Napa County Office of Education will host an Achievement Gap Roundtable on April 11 that will explore ways to achieve greater equality in education.

Assemblymember Tony Thurmond will be joined by Carl A. Cohn, executive director of the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, Barbara Nemko, Napa County superintendent of schools and others.

 They will talk about closing the achievement gap experienced by students of color, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, English language learners and students with disabilities.

The roundtable will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Napa Valley Unified School District Education Center, 2425 Jefferson St., Room 205, Napa.
