A Clean Environment

Tony believes how we will be judged in history depends in large part on how we stand up and fight against climate change. He supports California's landmark law to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2020 - and will fight to see that we reach that goal. But Tony is not waiting for that to happen. He's fighting now to stop harmful emissions from the Chevron refinery in Richmond, and to require more transparency in and environmental oversight of refinery operations.

Tony is working in Richmond to promote sustainability and lower the city's greenhouse gas emissions, establish a Green Zone for sustainable economic development, increase parks and open space and protect wetlands. He recently voted to support the City of Richmond's ban on Styrofoam.
